ABOUT THE FARM
Produced by smallholder farmers surrounding the volcanic crater lake of Laguna de Ayarza in Guatemala's Santa Rosa region, this naturally processed lot reflects the unique growing conditions of one of the country's most promising coffee-producing areas. Mineral-rich volcanic soils, high elevations, and a distinct microclimate provide an exceptional environment for cultivating specialty coffee.
Coffee cherries are handpicked by local producers before being delivered to a central processing facility near Ayarza, where strict quality standards are maintained throughout the natural drying process. By centralising processing and rewarding only carefully selected ripe cherries, producers achieve greater consistency while supporting the livelihoods of the surrounding farming communities.

ABOUT THE REGION
Located in Guatemala's Santa Rosa department, Laguna de Ayarza is a volcanic caldera lake formed thousands of years ago. The surrounding highlands are characterised by fertile volcanic soils, cool nights, and favourable elevations that allow coffee cherries to mature slowly, creating ideal conditions for specialty coffee production. Today, the area is home to numerous smallholder farmers who work together through central processing facilities to consistently produce high-quality coffees while preserving the region's unique identity
